The number of Lightning network users has been growing steadily over the past few years. They are attracted not only by low transaction fees, but also by the high performance of the LN, thanks to the sending of funds using third-party facilities.
Glassnode analyst James Check pointed out that the average transaction fee for transferring one bitcoin through the Lightning network is 3,000 satoshi ($0.84). The fees are about a thousand times lower than those of Visa and MasterCard.
Glassnode also noted that Lightning’s commissions have been steadily decreasing since November 2021. At the same time its popularity, on the contrary, is increasing.
