SEC: DeFi market should be regulated using securities law

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) plans to introduce registration of cryptocurrency platforms representing the DeFi decentralized financing market.
As specified by Bloomberg, the decision to launch a mechanism for licensing trading platforms was made last week.
The head of the SEC, Gary Gensler, wants Congress to have the authority to oversee digital asset transactions. In addition, he proposes to regulate DeFi-protocols using U.S. securities laws.
