Salvadorans have spoken out against buying bitcoins at the expense of the budget

In September 2021, El Salvador enacted a law recognizing bitcoin as a legal tender. It was initiated by the country’s president, Nayib Bukele.
After that, Salvadoran authorities periodically entered the market to buy cryptocurrency to replenish reserves. However, the population of the Latin American state does not support this government policy.
According to most Salvadorans, the Nayib Buquele administration has no right to spend the budget to buy bitcoins.
