Last fall, Binance USD (BUSD) was capitalized at $21.6 billion. The token’s market share in digital currencies with fiat collateral exceeded 15% after investors began to withdraw capital from Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC).
Paxos announced that it has suspended the issuance of BUSD Stablecoin due to a ban by the New York City Department of Financial Services.
The team said in a statement that it will stop issuing new tokens as of February 21. At the same time, the company will stop interacting with Binance, the developer of the BUSD coin, pegged to the U.S. dollar.
