The scandal surrounding collapse FTX crypto-exchange is taking on a new meaning amid a statement by Elon Musk. He said that incoming information shows that FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried did not object to more than $1 billion in donations to the Democratic Party to support that party’s representatives in the U.S. elections. Musk asked the rhetorical question of where the money that was transferred to the Democratic Party actually went.
Bankman-Fried has not yet responded to Musk’s words, but the FTX founder has previously claimed that he does not have any political leanings and has allegedly helped both major parties in the United States, including the Republican Party. Meanwhile, there is no evidence yet as to whether the FTX founder donated to the Republican Party.
Some experts have linked the reported donations from the FTX founder to the fact that for some reason the U.S. Justice Department is not yet investigating Sam-Bankman Fried, although a court in Delaware eventually began to consider the FTX bankruptcy case.
It’s worth recalling that in May, even before FTX collapsed, Sam-Bankman Fried said he was willing to give between $100 million and $1 billion to the upcoming U.S. presidential election in 2024, and he called the $1 billion amount not a “ceiling” for his capabilities.
