Ethereum Classic hashrate soared 200% in a month

Computing capacity of the Ethereum Classic network has been growing over the past few weeks. Analysts attribute this trend to the connection of miners who exited Ethereum before the Merge fork.
In one month, the ETC hash rate soared more than 200% from 30 terahashes per second (Th/s) to 66 Th/s. According to BitinfoCharts, Ethereum Classic hashrate reached 66.84 Th/s on September 15 – a historical maximum for the blockchain.
As a reminder, the Merge update will make the Ethereum network move to the PoS consensus and become more energy efficient. Network activity on Ethereum Classic is also increasing. The average daily number of transactions in the middle of this week reached 59,551.
