El Salvador’s parliament passed a bill confirming bitcoin’s status as a means of payment in the domestic market.
In addition, the document creates a legal framework that will be used by the authorities to implement the so-called BTC-bonds. The Latin American state has repeatedly planned to issue them since the beginning of 2022.
After the adoption of the bill by the deputies of the Assembly, it must be signed by the President of El Salvador Nayib Buquele. It was this politician who initiated the legalization of bitcoin in 2021.
