The Bank of Canada has launched a public discussion on the creation of a national digital currency (CBDC).
Back in 2021, the Central Bank first spoke positively about the digital version of the Canadian dollar.
According to the regulator, the introduction of the token into the state’s financial system will create conditions for its accelerated digitalization. In addition, CBDC will increase the availability of banking services.
