Argentine authorities will encourage citizens to declare cryptocurrency

The Argentine Ministry of Economy has drafted a bill that would encourage citizens to provide information about digital assets.
This document was created at the initiative of the head of the agency Sergio Massa. It will be part of a large-scale project of the authorities to combat money laundering, according to local publication Errepar.
In Argentina, an increasing number of citizens are buying digital currencies because they do not trust fiat money due to inflation. Back in 2021, the country’s tax authority forced all cryptocurrency exchanges to provide information about users’ transactions.
